Dr. Rory Vinsky

DMD, Cert. Pedo.

Dr. Vinsky has been a pediatric dentist in Calgary for over 12 years. He completed his specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Connecticut in 1998 following a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg. Graduating top of his class in pediatric dentistry at the University of Manitoba in 1994, he received the American Society of Dentistry for Children Award.

Dr. Vinsky is on staff at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and is a member of the Alberta Society of Dental Specialists, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has been a visiting professor in pediatric dentistry at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry.

Dr Vinsky’s focus is not just on the teeth requiring care, but also on working with children to create a positive and lasting dental experience. He never forgets that there is someone wearing those teeth!

He is married to his wonderful wife, Tara and has a daughter, Hayden.

Dr. Cameron M. Zealand

Dr. Zealand, or Dr. Cam as he is called by the children he treats, is one of our 2 fun pediatric dentists. After spending 5 years working in the petroleum engineering field, he wanted to find a career that would allow him to teach and mentor youth while nuturing his own love for the medical field. Dr. Zealand discovered pediatric dentistry, which has allowed him to make a difference in the lives of many children.

His caring personality and sense of humor are appreciated by patients and parents alike. Dr. Zealand is committed to creating a positive environment for all those who enter his office. He takes the time, effort and energy to make everyone feel welcome.

Dr. Zealand grew up in Winnipeg attending the University of Manitoba where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1995) and a Master of Science in Engineering (1997). He then returned to the University of Manitoba in 2002 and spent 4 years at the Faculty of Dentistry earning his dual degree of Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2006. Graduating top of his class in pediatric dentistry at the University of Manitoba, he received the American Society of Dentistry for Children award.

Dr. Zealand then spent 3 years in Ann Arbor, Michigan at The University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Department of Pediatric Dentistry in conjuction with Mott Children’s Hospital, Mott Children’s Health Center and Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan. He obtained a Master of Science degree along with an Advanced Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in 2008 and was awarded the honor of the “Most Outstanding Resident” in his class. He remains active with his alma maters, both in Manitoba and Michigan, through academic research and teaching dental students. Currently, he is conducting a clinical trial of two different materials used to treat baby tooth root canals. Most recently, Dr. Zealand was awarded the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Paul P. Taylor award for the most prestigious journal article published in Pediatric Dentistry for 2010.

Dr. Zealand operates out of North Calgary Pediatric Dentistry (NCPD) and Riverview Surgical Center. He is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Alberta Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Alberta Society of Dental Specialists, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Kenneth A. Easlick Society. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

A Native of Winnipeg, Dr. Zealand moved to Calgary to enjoy the amazing lifestyle of the Rocky Mountains. He is married to his best friend, Tammy, and together have twins, son (Tate) and daughter (Siena).

During his free time he can be found mountain biking, trail running travelling and spending time with his family. But rest assured, on a beautiful fall saturday, he will still be singing “Hail to the Victors” for his Michigan Wolverines.
